♬ original sound - MELThe video shows the screen where the amount of winnings is climbing, as a man in the video exclaims: “Wait what?” Then the penny drops, and the real total is announced. Mel’s mom looks confused for a split second then begins to scream, and repeats “oh my god.”

In a comment, Mel wrote: “Thank you everyone for all the kind and genuine comments!! My momma is one happy gal & as an entire family, we are so incredibly grateful!”

What Are the Odds?

According to betting website Bet and Beat: “Your chances of winning any major jackpot start at 50 million to more than 100 million to one. The likelihood of winning a slot jackpot depends on the slot game’s return to player rate and variance… Certain slots can reach up to 600 million to one likelihood of winning the jackpot.”

Website Investopedia said: “Each game you play at a casino has a statistical probability against you winning, slot machine odds are some of the worst, ranging from a one-in-5,000 to one-in-about-34-million chance of winning the top prize when using the maximum coin play.

“In 2018, commercial casino gaming revenue amounted to about $41.7 billion; one way to think about all those profits is that they are the result of the accrual of all of the losses from casino patrons each year.”

For those wanting to gamble, 888 Casino offers a warning, writing that “most sessions on slot machines will result in losing money, and there’s nothing you can do to chance that.”

The online casino continued: “Sometimes you’ll win at slots, and even win big. Enjoy those times when they come. But never bet money you can’t afford to lose, and be sure you’re playing games that fit your bankroll.

“As a basic rule of thumb, your gambling bankroll should cover 250 bets to give you a 90 percent chance of lasting three hours.”

“Congratulations”

Many users in the comments were delighted at the win, with one user saying in a comment with over 5,000 likes: “You can tell by the reaction, this money lifted so much wait off of her shoulders! Pure happiness!! Amazing!!!!”

Another user wrote: “Congratulations!!! I love this!!” While one user alluded to the cost of living crisis in America, writing: “That’s amazing, you can buy groceries and gas for a year,” in a comment with over 3,000 likes, to which another user replied: “This should be the top comment.”
